You’ve been going since 6:00 this morning.
You packed lunches.
You ate breakfast.
Or… wait… did you even eat breakfast?!? You honestly can’t remember.
You got everyone where they needed to be.
Answered the texts.
Returned the phone calls.
Did the laundry.
Made dinner.
Cleaned up the kitchen.
Paid a few bills.
Added three more things to tomorrow’s to-do list.
And somewhere between loading the dishwasher and setting your alarm… you caught yourself thinking,
“Maybe next month I’ll finally do something I want to do.”
Then you rolled over and went to sleep.
Let’s be honest.
You’ve been saying “next month” for years.
Over the years, I’ve had conversations with so many women.
Not one has ever told me…
“I don’t want more support.”
“I don’t want meaningful friendships.”
“I don’t want to grow.”
“I don’t want to learn.”
“I don’t want to feel healthier.”
“I don’t want to feel more like myself.”
Almost every single one says some version of this instead:
“Life is just really busy right now.”
“Maybe after things settle down.”
“Once the kids are older.”
“After this project.”
“After the holidays.”
“After retirement.”
Can I gently challenge that thought?
Because life has always been busy.
Five years ago it was busy.
Last year was busy.
Last month was busy.
This week is busy.
And unless someone has figured out how to add four extra hours to every day…
next month is probably going to be busy too.
Busy isn’t the problem anymore.
It’s become the permission slip we hand ourselves for staying exactly where we are.
Here’s the hard part.
Every time you postpone yourself…
you’re practicing postponing yourself.
Every time you tell yourself,
“I’ll start later…”
your brain quietly learns,
“This isn’t important yet.”
Eventually, that becomes your normal.
Not because you don’t care.
Because you’ve gotten really good at putting everyone else first.
Research consistently shows that women spend significantly more time than men on unpaid caregiving and household responsibilities while also carrying much of the family’s mental load. It’s no wonder so many women end the day feeling exhausted before they’ve spent even five minutes on something that fills them up.
You’re not failing.
You’re carrying a lot.
But carrying a lot doesn’t mean you stop mattering.
Putting yourself off doesn’t just delay your goals.
It slowly chips away at…
The scary part?
It happens so gradually that most women don’t notice until they wake up one day wondering,
“How did I get here?”
Not ten hours.
Not a complete life makeover.
One hour.
One intentional decision each week to invest in becoming the woman you know you’re capable of being.
Maybe that’s finally taking the Stuck Point Quiz to discover the area that’s keeping you stuck.
Maybe it’s identifying and releasing the stuck points that keep pulling you back into the same exhausting patterns.
Maybe it’s joining a women’s community where you’re encouraged, challenged, celebrated, and reminded that you don’t have to figure everything out alone.
Maybe it’s simply saying yes to yourself for the first time in a long time.
Big transformations rarely begin with giant leaps.
They begin with one intentional decision.
One year from now…
life will probably still be busy.
There will still be laundry.
Appointments.
Phone calls.
Meals to make.
People who need you.
The question isn’t whether life will slow down.
The question is this:
Will you still be waiting?
Or will you finally decide that you deserve to become the woman you’ve been putting off?
Because someday isn’t a day on the calendar.
It’s a decision.
And maybe…
today is the day you stop waiting.
